Business leaders of tomorrow to be recognised in awards ceremony

5 February 10

Nominations are being taken for the inaugural Yorkshire Rising Star of the Year Awards 2010, sponsored by Grant Thornton, Cobbetts and Sharp Consultancy.

The awards offer the opportunity for unsung business heroes to be publicly recognised for their work in supporting their directors.

FDs are invited to put forward their most valuable qualified team member who has performed above expectations from both a technical and personal perspective.

It is hoped the awards will become a benchmark for high achievement in the coming years, giving the chance to highlight a business and an individual rarely offered in the industry.

They promise to be keenly contested with six different categories according to turnover, and separate awards for West and South Yorkshire.

Nominees will be invited, along with their Finance Director, to an informal panel to discuss the achievements of the nominee, after which successful candidates and their guests will be invited to the awards dinner. Interviews are already being held at businesses throughout the region.

All shortlisted candidates, their guests and a selection of esteemed business leaders will be invited to the ticket-only awards dinner on Thursday 13 May at the Cedar Court Hotel in Wakefield.
