Yorkshire to merge with Chelsea headlines today and we wish them every good fortune in creating the second largest building society – and testament to the financial strength and well run business head-quartered in Bradford. The building societies in our region have a strong case in arguing that the playing fields need levelling to prevent discrimination against the well capitalized and prudent institutions that provide a great service and are certainly in the ‘socially useful’ part of the much maligned financial sector!
