Yorkshire Forward’s AGM and the great debate in Bradford. The future of the RDAs was again the central topic – a robust defence from the officials with a lot of support for Yorkshire Forward from an understandably sympathetic audience. At the Midland Hotel in Bradford we were next to the starkest reminder of regeneration problems with the huge hole in the ground that isn’t the Westfield Broadway development. I’m not sure that Westfield are doing anything but waiting. Meanwhile the centre of Bradford is on hold. I wish there was something that could be done.
And then the attention moved back to Leeds with the 16:30 announcement that Lord Mandelson’s department wasn’t supporting the Arena development. I could blog for several days on this and probably will.
